All I Know of Dodos Is Extinction

I chased the trails
The room left behind
Tracing them quieted
My whispering
Fingertips
My swift cut of fabric
Frequency
They makes me a maze

I awaked
My first in moons
To tote around
My slumbered days
A string on my finger
Following a mile
Behind
Serpentine and slow
Tuba low
But tensioning

I coral, my fingers eat
The fingers next to mine.
A fish grows
A beak to pick
At my flesh
My skin
Is a lullaby
And so I’ve become
Dangerous
